Web Coding – JavaScript

The second of three Web Coding publications looks at JavaScript, the language that makes things happen in a web page. Using only a basic text editor and browser, we start with the very simple bits of code that change text and colour. We go on to analyse some more complex problems involving loops, functions, ‘if….else’ clauses and arrays, creating several data validation solutions for forms. Finally, all these skills are used to create a series of fun games, starting with a simple noughts and crosses, moving on to Connect 4 and then finishing with a much more challenging (and open ended) Reversi program. We provide full solutions to all the problems, including almost 70 coded webpages and script files.
